We are Azizi Developments, a leading Dubai-based real estate developer committed to crafting beautiful homes and creating exceptional living experiences across the UAE. Our portfolio spans some of Dubai’s most prominent residential and commercial destinations, reflecting our commitment to transparency, customer-centricity, quality, integrity, and value creation through a construction-driven approach.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineer – Mechanical to join our Studio 360° Technical Office, based in Dubai South, UAE.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with a combination of contractor and consultant experience, along with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical materials, equipment, systems, technical specifications, testing, and quality assurance across diverse construction projects.

The role will oversee the technical evaluation, selection, testing, and approval of mechanical materials and systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable international standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.

The successful candidate will collaborate with design, procurement, construction, and specialist teams to ensure material suitability, system performance, cost efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with project requirements.

Experience across residential, commercial, hospitality, high-rise, healthcare, and special projects is highly desirable, particularly in HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, LPG, and other mechanical building services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical evaluation, selection, testing, and quality assurance of mechanical materials, equipment, and systems used across construction projects.
  • Review and verify mechanical material submittals, technical specifications, equipment schedules, data sheets, method statements, test reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure all proposed mechanical materials and systems comply with project specifications, design intent, applicable UAE regulations, and relevant international standards, including ISO, ASTM, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and WRAS, as applicable.
  • Review and assess materials, equipment, and systems related to HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, LPG, and other mechanical building services.
  • Evaluate equipment performance, technical compliance, operational requirements, and compatibility with project design and engineering standards.
  • Review material samples, equipment mock-ups, prototypes, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements, brand standards, and performance criteria.
  • Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, suppliers, procurement teams, and construction teams to resolve technical issues and facilitate timely material and equipment approvals.
  • Evaluate alternative materials, equipment, and technologies, recommending cost-effective, energy-efficient, and sustainable solutions without compromising quality or performance.
  • Monitor testing, inspection, and quality control processes for mechanical materials and equipment, analyse test results, and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
  • Investigate equipment failures, material defects, and technical non-conformities, coordinating root-cause analysis and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain and manage mechanical material documentation, technical records, applicable standards, specifications, and approval registers within the Technical Office.
  • Provide technical support during design development, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Coordinate with civil, architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration of mechanical systems and avoid design and installation conflicts.
  • Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to address material approvals, compliance, equipment selection, and system performance.
  • Manage multiple projects and mechanical material packages simultaneously, ensuring timely deliverables and adherence to project schedules.
  • Research emerging mechanical technologies, materials, and equipment to improve energy efficiency, sustainability, reliability, and long-term operational performance.
  • Review the work prepared by Material Engineers, provide technical guidance, and support the development of team members while maintaining consistent technical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, confidentiality requirements, communication protocols, and applicable quality management systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Significant experience in technical engineering, mechanical material engineering, MEP technical office functions, or mechanical systems review within the construction or real estate development sector.
  • A combination of contractor and consultant experience is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical materials, equipment, specifications, testing procedures, quality assurance, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience reviewing mechanical material submittals, technical data sheets, equipment schedules, test reports, samples, and approval documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, LPG, and other mechanical building services.
  • Knowledge of applicable international standards, including ISO, ASTM, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and WRAS, as relevant to the role.
  • Familiarity with UAE building regulations, local authority requirements, and relevant mechanical engineering codes and standards.
  • Experience working on residential and commercial developments, hospitality projects, high-rise buildings, healthcare facilities, or other complex construction projects.
  • Strong coordination skills and experience working with multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, suppliers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders.
