TECHNICAL ENGINEER - RENEWABLE ENERGY

Business Objective

To strategically drive the Technical engineering business in line with overall company objective and oversee daily operations in the technical aspect of the business.

Key Responsibilities

o In depth understanding of AC and DC power systems (Rectifiers, Inverters, UPS, AVR, ATS, panels,

o Knowledge of alternative/renewable energy technologies (Solar, Wind, Hydro, Geothermal).

o Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve technical service to clients.

o Suggest alternative technical solutions to meet client requirement more efficiently.

o Manage multiple technical teams within budget and project schedule.

o Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.

o Persuade clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price, and delivery.

o Mentor, manage and motivate field engineers/subordinates.

o Work on after-sales support services and provide technical back-up as required.

o Liaise with management, Sales and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

o Consistently deliver high-quality services to our clients.

o Identify and understand future business needs, prepare, and implement technical strategies to meet those needs.

o Coordinate and direct all technical projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

o Analyze technical needs, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

o Prepare monthly progress and executive summary reports on projects within purview.

o Good knowledge of other power systems like Diesel Generators, Transformers etc.

o Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.

o Ensure that the strategies adopted for every project are the most cost effective while ensuring that engineering service standards are still upheld.

o Direct, review and approve product design and changes.

o Oversight responsibility for the end-to-end life cycle of all projects and activities within the technical department.

o Assign, direct and evaluate direct reports’ work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

o Stay abreast with the latest technologies and recommend solutions to novel customer requests in the interest of the organization.

o Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the technical department.

o Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.

o Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.

o Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.

o Set technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management.

o Tracking projects that are subcontracted to third parties, ensuring they meet company standards.

General Responsibilities:

o Evaluate KPIs and performance for the Technical team.

o Formulate career development plans within the department.

o Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for general business growth.

o Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of Technical department (use of electrical equipment’s, batteries and general risk management).

Requirements

o Bachelor’s in electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline.

o Previous/current supervisory/managerial role recommended.

o 7-10 years’ experience in either banking or/and Telecommunications industry.

o In depth understanding of AC and DC power systems (Rectifiers, Inverters, UPS, AVR, ATS, panels, Diesel Generators, Transformers).

o Knowledge of alternative/renewable energy technologies (Solar, Wind, Hydro, Geothermal).

o Strong managerial, communication and presentation skills.

o Expertise with CRM systems and practices.

o Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

o HSE knowledge and certification is an added advantage.

o Certification in alternative power solutions and/or electrical engineering is desirable.

Pay: ₦600,000.00 - ₦600,001.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Lagos: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• Higher National Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

• ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING: 7 years (Required)
• SOLAR DESIGN AND INSTALLATIONS: 7 years (Required)
• LEADERSHIP AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGER: 5 years (Required)
• TEAM LEADERSHIP: 5 years (Required)
• CLIENT/CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT: 7 years (Required)
