Technical Engineer - Windows Systems

About the role

This role provides technical assistance to Level 1 Engineers and delivers onsite or offsite support to customers. You will handle incident and problem management reporting, manage small scale projects independently, and assist in large scale project deployment while ensuring timelines are met.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to Level 1 Engineers
• Provide onsite or offsite support to customers
• Prepare incident reports if required
• Prepare problem management reports
• Handle small scale projects independently and assist in large scale project deployment
• Assist in project deployment and ensure deployment is carried out according to timelines
• Provide input to develop documents for projects

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology
• 3 years relevant working experience required
• Ability to configure and design infrastructure solutions based on VMware, Microsoft, or Storage solutions
• Good knowledge in IT troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Available to be on 24/7 standby on a weekly rotation basis and able to work after office hours, weekends and on Public Holidays if situation demands
• Good working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows operating systems configuration, troubleshooting and implementation
• Good working knowledge of networking, for example TCP/IP and routing
• Knowledge of Backup solutions (Veritas, Veeam or EMC Networker) and SAN Storage (EMC/NetApp) is an added advantage
• Technical skills in MS Windows OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, SQL, SCCM, SCOM, VMware vSphere, vCenter, SRM, HA, HP or IBM Servers, Blade Servers, or Storages
