- Standardize illustration styles across all product lines following internal brand guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
● USPTO Patent & Intellectual Property Drawing Standards
- Prepare and format patent illustration drawings in accordance with United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) standards (including sheet margins, line weights, shading techniques, hatchings, and reference numbers).
- Collaborate with engineering and legal teams to visually document proprietary product designs, mechanical brackets, and innovative HVAC features for patent applications.
● Technical Writing & Manual Development (Plus)
- Assist technical writers in drafting clear, concise installation procedures, maintenance steps, safety warnings, and troubleshooting workflows.
- Review and audit OEM-supplied documentation to align terminology, formatting, and structural instructions for North American technicians and consumers.
Qualifications & Requirements
● Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in technical illustration, draftsmanship, or publication design (HVAC, consumer hardware, or manufacturing sectors preferred).
● Software Proficiency:
- Advanced expertise in vector illustration software (Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, or Canvas GF X).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD rendering and conversion tools (e.g., SolidWorks Composer, Autodesk Inventor, Creo Illustrate, or Rhino).
● Technical Standards & Knowledge:
- Proven understanding of USPTO patent drawing guidelines (37 CFR 1.84) for utility and design patents.
