In this role, you’ll lead hands-on technical training in our state-of-the-art training facility, mentor apprentices, and support the growth of field and office employees. You’ll also conduct technical evaluations for new hires and internal promotions, directly influencing who joins and advances within our organization.

Position details/responsibilities…

  • Deliver in-person, hands-on technical training to apprentices, field employees, and office employees (in training facilities and occasionally on active job sites).
  • Teach Power Design’s Best Practices, safety expectations, and electrical installation standards using real-world applications.
  • Conduct technical evaluations for new hires and internal promotion candidates to assess skill level and field readiness.
  • Mentor apprentices throughout their development, including classroom instruction, virtual instruction, and hands-on lab-based learning.
  • Design, develop, and maintain training content, materials, and assessments that align with project requirements and code updates.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and field leaders to evaluate training effectiveness and improve learning outcomes.
  • Interface with apprenticeship and industry organizations (IEC, ABC chapters, etc.).
  • Represent Power Design in the community through trade advocacy and workforce development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Here’s what we’re looking for…

  • Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master’s) OR meets all requirements to obtain Journeyman-level licensure in Florida.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial electrical construction (multifamily/high-rise strongly preferred)
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) with proficiency in both oral and written form is highly preferred to effectively conduct training, communicate with field teams, and support Spanish-speaking learners.
  • Supervisory experience in managing and mentoring crews is preferred
  • Passion for teaching and the ability to simplify technical concepts into clear, hands-on learning.
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills; comfortable leading both small groups and large classes.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with instructor-led or field-based training preferred.
  • Ability to occasionally adjust work hours to support training needs. Bilingual abilities a plus.
  • Demonstrates and upholds Power Design’s core values: Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation, and Growth.
