Technical Interior Designer

This position combines strong interior design judgement with the technical skill to turn an approved concept into accurate drawings, custom product details, and information that vendors and contractors can use. This person works closely with the principal designer and helps consistently carry our company's interior design language through every drawing and produced item.

Candidate Profile:

The right candidate is fluent in AutoCAD and SketchUp, comfortable measuring existing conditions, experienced in construction and custom fabrication documentation, and able to communicate precise details to makers and installers. Strong interior design judgement and a willingness to explore unusual custom solutions are essential. The role requires regular work in the office, on job sites, and in the market.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and maintain AutoCAD drawings, SketchUp models, technical presentations, construction details, and coordinated drawings.
• Perform and document on-site technical measures; verify critical field dimensions and conditions before drawings or orders are finalized.
• Translate custom furniture, lighting, wallpaper, cabinetry, and other one-of-a-kind ideas into dimensions, materials, finishes, and fabrication information; coordinate shop or manufacturer drawings with makers.

Design collaboration and brand standards:

• Work with principal designer to identify opportunities for distinctive custom work on each project; develop options that fit the design direction and can be built.
• Bring a strong design eye to the linework, composition, materials, and presentation quality of drawings and technical packages so the work feels consistent with our brand.
• Join site visits and market sourcing for fabrics, wallpapers, finishes, metals, and other products that support project concepts and custom pieces.

Production and ordering:

• Coordinate technical questions with vendors, contractors, and fabricators; resolve dimensions, finishes, connections, tolerances, and installation details with the team.
• Review technical information on purchase orders and fabrication documents for accuracy before the order is placed or released; flag open discussions
• Track approvals, production milestones, and order status with principal designer and promptly surface timing or specification issues that affect the project schedule.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
