We’re working with a pre-Seed, AI-native start-up building a verification layer for AI agents operating in regulated industries.

As AI makes intelligence increasingly abundant, trust is becoming a much bigger challenge. Businesses are beginning to use AI agents across areas such as legal, finance, procurement and operations – but generating an answer is only part of the problem. Knowing whether that answer is actually true before someone acts on it is becoming increasingly important.

That’s the problem this business is solving.

Their platform helps companies understand what’s true, ground AI in trusted information and verify AI-generated intelligence before it’s used to make consequential decisions.

They’re now looking for a Tech Lead to take genuine technical ownership of the platform and help shape what engineering looks like through the next stage of the company.

Responsibilities:

Your first few months will be about getting close to the product, customers and existing platform, understanding the problem the business is solving and developing a view on where the architecture and engineering capability need to go next.

From there, you’ll increasingly own technical vision, strategy and execution. You’ll make architecture and systems design decisions, remain hands-on with the product and help build and lead the engineering team as the company grows.

This is an environment where you’ll work directly with the Founders, make decisions without perfect information and constantly balance technical quality against what the business and its customers actually need right now.

You won’t be inheriting a perfectly defined roadmap or unlimited resources. You’ll have the autonomy and responsibility to help determine what should be built, how it should be built and where engineering needs to go next.

Required Skills:

• 6+ years’ engineering experience
• Strong Python and SQL
• Strong Data Engineering foundations
• Experience building and owning data pipelines in production
• AWS experience
• Broader full-stack / Product Engineering capability, ideally including TypeScript exposure
• Strong systems design and architecture experience
• Experience with production AI systems, particularly RAG, retrieval, embeddings/vector stores and evaluation
• Comfortable using AI development tools while remaining capable of writing, reviewing, testing and explaining your own code
• Genuine early-stage start-up experience
• Experience working closely with Founders and operating with ambiguity and incomplete information
• High ownership, good judgement and the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions
