Technical Lead

We’re looking for an experienced Contract Tech Lead to take ownership of a critical Pricing & Billing capability, bringing complex pricing, tariffs and billing logic in-house from third-party providers.

You’ll be the technical authority and hands-on leader, guiding a team to design and build robust, scalable services on .NET and Azure, with opportunities to apply AI (Codex) where it adds real value.

This is a high-impact role with visibility, autonomy, and the chance to shape the technical direction of a core business platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical leadership across the Pricing & Billing domain, acting as the go-to SME
• Drive key architecture and design decisions to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions
• Lead and mentor engineers, setting standards and building a high-performing delivery culture
• Own quality across the build: code reviews, QA approach, testing strategy and release readiness
• Design and deliver complex pricing and tariff models, billing workflows, and integrations
• Manage the transition from third-party solutions to in-house capability, reducing dependency and increasing control
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering leadership and stakeholders to align delivery with business goals
• Identify where AI can enhance pricing and billing outcomes (e.g., optimisation, anomaly detection, decision support)

Person Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead / Senior Engineer leading teams and making architecture-level decisions
• Strong .NET expertise (C#) building backend services and APIs
• Solid Azure experience (e.g., App Services/Functions, messaging, storage, monitoring and security patterns)
• Experience delivering complex pricing, tariffs, rating and billing systems (or similarly rules-heavy financial/transactional domains)
• Demonstrable ability to set engineering best practices: clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability
• Confident stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical delivery
• Comfortable working with (and migrating away from) third-party platforms and vendors
