Location: Warren, MI (5 days a week onsite)

Position Type: 9-Month Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: $60-$80/hour

A confidential defense client is seeking a Technical Lead to coordinate software development and integration efforts across multiple projects and platforms. This role will partner with program managers, customers, and engineering teams to understand requirements, establish technical approaches, coordinate resources, and drive deliverables through completion.

This is a technical leadership role rather than a strictly project management position. The Technical Lead will apply a strong software engineering background to technical solution development and perform hands-on software work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate software development and integration efforts across multiple projects, platforms, and workstreams.
• Work with program managers, customers, and engineering teams to gather, analyze, and translate system and software requirements into technical work.
• Determine required work, establish technical approaches, assign responsibilities, and drive work through completion.
• Coordinate engineers across workstreams and establish clear technical priorities, responsibilities, and timelines.
• Manage requirements and technical priorities throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Coordinate new functionality, integration activities, technical changes, and customer requirements as systems progress through development and testing.
• Support technical solutions and perform hands-on software work as needed.
• Utilize Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitLab, DOORS, UML models and diagrams, and configuration management processes.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with technical leadership responsibilities.
• Strong software engineering/development background.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and translating system/software requirements into technical work.
• Experience coordinating development and integration across multiple projects, platforms, or workstreams.
• Ability to establish technical approaches, assign responsibilities, and drive work through completion.
• Experience working directly with program managers, technical teams, and customers.
• Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, GitLab, and DOORS.
• Experience with configuration management.
• Ability to read and interpret UML models and diagrams.
• Experience managing requirements and technical priorities throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Proven technical leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• C++ development experience.
• Hands-on coding experience in an embedded or systems software environment.
• Experience with Confluence.
• Defense or DoD experience.
• Experience with complex integrated systems.
• Experience supporting software through development, integration, and multiple levels of testing.

Compensation & Benefits

$60/hr to $80/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
