About iCode Alpharetta

iCode Alpharetta is an after-school STEAM and coding center serving students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Our goal is to provide engaging, hands-on technology education that builds creativity, confidence, problem-solving skills, and real-world technical knowledge.

In addition to programs offered at our Alpharetta campus, iCode also partners with local schools to deliver in-school and after-school STEAM and technology programs.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Technical Lead / Coding & STEAM Instructor who is passionate about technology, education, and working with young learners.

The instructor will deliver iCode curriculum, guide students through projects and the iCode Belt Program, evaluate progress, and create a positive and engaging learning environment.

This position may involve teaching both at the iCode Alpharetta campus and at partner schools in the surrounding area. Candidates should therefore be comfortable traveling locally and facilitating classes in different school environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach coding, computer science, and STEAM concepts using iCode curriculum and instructional guidelines.
  • Deliver engaging, hands-on classes for students ranging from K–12.
  • Facilitate classes at iCode Alpharetta as well as at designated partner schools and off-site program locations.
  • Guide students through projects and support their progress through the iCode Belt Program.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and positive classroom environment.
  • Assess and document student progress, achievement, participation, and behavior.
  • Provide meaningful feedback regarding class material and student dynamics.
  • Communicate student progress and updates to parents as required.
  • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Maintain high standards for classroom organization, equipment, and student experience.
  • Collaborate with the campus leadership team and contribute ideas for improving programs and instruction.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a strong interest in computer science and the ability to communicate technical concepts in an engaging, age-appropriate manner.

Experience or familiarity with Python, JavaScript, HTML, and Alice is preferred. Experience with Unity, Minecraft, Roblox, 3D Modelling, GameMaker, robotics, game development, or other STEAM technologies is a plus.

Ideal candidates are:

  • Positive, energetic, dependable, and professional.
  • Comfortable working with children across a wide range of ages and ability levels.
  • Patient and able to adapt instruction to different learning styles.
  • Strong communicators with good written and verbal skills.
  • Creative problem-solvers who can work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working in both campus and school-based classroom environments.
  • Flexible to work after-school hours, evenings, weekends, and school breaks.
  • Able and willing to travel locally to partner schools when assigned.
  • Willing to successfully complete all required background checks, screening, and school or district clearance requirements prior to working with students.

Education & Experience

Ideal candidates include college freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Graduate students and candidates with advanced degrees in Computer Science or related fields are also encouraged to apply.

Exceptional high school students with demonstrated technical ability, a strong Computer Science focus, and leadership involvement in a STEAM or technology club may also be considered. Alumni of iCode programs may qualify based on demonstrated skills and experience.

Schedule

This is primarily an after-school and weekend position, with opportunities for additional daytime hours during school holidays, breaks, camps, and school partnership programs.

Candidates should have flexibility to work at different locations based on program schedules.

Why Join iCode Alpharetta?

This role provides an opportunity to combine technology with education while developing valuable experience in teaching, leadership, communication, classroom management, and STEM instruction.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with young learners both at our center and within partner schools, helping students turn their interest in technology into practical skills and confidence.
