Technical Lead- Data Platforms & Azure

Lead the design and delivery of complex, modern data platforms in a highly visible technical leadership role.

We’re looking for experienced Technical Leads to join a major data and technology environment on a 2-year fixed-term basis, providing technical leadership across significant data platform and integration initiatives.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of technical direction across an evolving Azure-based data landscape, working alongside architects, engineers, analysts and product teams to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing solutions. You’ll provide architectural leadership, manage technical risk and help ensure continuity of delivery across multiple interconnected workstreams.

While this is a leadership role, you’ll need strong technical depth. You’ll help shape platform engineering practices, mentor engineers and drive improvements across DevOps, governance, reliability and operational performance.

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring strong experience leading the design and delivery of large-scale cloud data platforms, ideally within complex enterprise environments.

We’re particularly interested in experience across:

• Azure Databricks, Delta Lake and Spark
• Modern cloud and data platform architecture
• Technical architecture, design and risk management
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Containerisation and secure system integration
• DevOps, CI/CD and observability
• Platform governance, reliability and operational excellence
• Leading delivery across multiple teams and technical workstreams
• Mentoring engineers and uplifting technical capability
• Engaging senior stakeholders and translating complex technical concepts into practical solutions
