Technical Lead, Java, SaaS Platform Engineering

Key Responsibilities

1. SaaS Platform Design & Development

• Design and develop scalable, secure, cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and detailed design documents.
• Apply Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Object-Oriented Modeling and Design (OOMD), UML, and established design patterns.
• Design modular, maintainable systems using microservices and event-driven architectural principles.

2. Backend Engineering

• Lead hands-on development using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Design and implement efficient data models using MongoDB.
• Develop reusable platform services, APIs, and integration components.
• Implement authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and secure API communication.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

3. System Design & Engineering Excellence

• Own high-level and low-level system designs (HLD/LLD).
• Create UML class, sequence, activity, component, and deployment diagrams.
• Apply SOLID principles, clean architecture, design patterns, and coding best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive engineering quality.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes.

4. Technical Leadership

• Guide and mentor software engineers.
• Break down product requirements into technical tasks and implementation plans.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and engineering teams.
• Take ownership of technical delivery, code quality, and engineering milestones.
• Remain actively involved in coding, design, and technical problem-solving.

Required Technical Skills

• Java / J2EE: Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, Java 17+, multithreading, collections, and enterprise application development.
• Spring Ecosystem: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, and REST APIs.
• MongoDB: Data modeling, aggregation pipelines, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• System Design: Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, scalability, caching, resilience, and API design.
• OOAD / OOMD: Practical experience in object-oriented analysis, modeling, UML, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• SaaS Architecture: Understanding of multi-tenancy, tenant isolation, configuration-driven platforms, and cloud-native architecture.
• Development Tools: Git, Maven/Gradle, Docker, unit testing, and CI/CD fundamentals.

Good to Have

• Cloud services and container orchestration.
• Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event-driven messaging technologies.
• Redis and distributed caching.
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and IAM frameworks.
• Kubernetes and observability tools.
• Experience building platforms in Healthcare, Energy, IoT, or enterprise SaaS environments.
• Exposure to AI-enabled applications and integration services.
