Technical Lead (Node.js and AWS Serverless)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, architectural direction, and hands-on engineering expertise across business-critical software platforms. This role is responsible for guiding engineering teams in designing, building, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions while fostering engineering excellence and continuous improvement. As the technical leader within a product team, you will mentor engineers, champion engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering leadership to deliver innovative solutions aligned with business objectives. You will influence technical strategy, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the software delivered meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and maintainability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and solution design for engineering teams
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems
• Break down complex technical initiatives into achievable deliverables and successfully drive them through delivery
• Contribute hands-on to software development across core products and strategic initiatives
• Ensure engineering principles, coding standards, and architectural best practices are consistently followed
• Drive code reviews, design reviews, and architecture reviews to maintain high engineering quality
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices that deliver business value
• Champion software quality, performance, scalability, reliability, and security across products
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineers through pairing, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data teams, and other stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions

About you

• Extensive experience in software engineering with demonstrated technical leadership responsibilities
• Strong experience designing scalable distributed systems and modern software architectures
• Hands-on expertise with software development, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation
• Experience with system performance optimization, observability, and reliability engineering
• Deep understanding of software security principles and secure development practices
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and developing high-performing teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to simplify complex technical challenges
