Technical Lead, Platform

Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and development of Python-based backend services.
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable REST APIs.
• Make technical and architectural decisions for backend platform capabilities.
• Develop and review production-grade Python code.
• Design scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Improve application monitoring, debugging, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and establish strong backend engineering practices.
• Partner with product, operations, and business stakeholders on technical delivery.

Role Requirements:

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Expert-level Python programming skills.
• Deep understanding of core Python concepts, libraries, and development practices.
• Strong experience building production backend services and APIs.
• Experience with Django, Flask, and/or FastAPI.
• Strong SQL, database design, and data-modeling experience.
• Experience designing scalable APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Demonstrated architecture and system-design capabilities.
• Experience providing hands-on technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice to Have:

• AWS experience including services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, or S3.
• Experience with SQLAlchemy or similar ORM technologies.
• Event-driven architecture experience.
• Lending, fintech, or financial-services technology experience.
• Experience within a smaller or growth-oriented technology organization.
