Technical Manager (Architectural Works)

Job Purpose

The Technical Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving the Company's technical management system for architectural and building envelope works. This role provides technical leadership and support across all projects, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, and engineering best practices.

The position plays a key role in constructability review, design coordination, material evaluation, technical risk management, and standardization, while supporting project delivery through effective technical governance.

Key Responsibilities

A. Technical Management

• Establish and continuously improve the Company's technical management system.
• Develop and maintain company technical standards, standard construction details and engineering guidelines.
• Establish and maintain the material database, construction methodology database and Lessons Learned database.
• Develop and maintain procedures for reviewing Shop Drawings, Material Submittals, Method Statements and RFIs.
• Ensure consistent implementation of company technical standards across all projects.

B. Project Technical Support

• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to all projects.
• Review major construction methodologies and technical proposals.
• Review Shop Drawings and critical construction details.
• Identify technical risks and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Support project teams in Value Engineering exercises while maintaining quality and contractual compliance.

C. Interior & Building Envelope EngineeringResponsible for technical leadership of:

• Interior Works: Drywall, Ceiling, Partition, Flooring, Timber Finishes, Stone, Tile, Painting, Doors & Ironmongery, Toilet Cubicles, Raised Access Floors.
• Building Envelope: Curtain Wall, ACP, Metal Cladding, Sandwich Panels, Standing Seam Systems, Louvers, Roofing, Waterproofing Interfaces.
• Review specialist contractors' proposals, shop drawings and technical submissions.
  D. Technical Coordination
• Organize technical coordination meetings.
• Coordinate Architectural, Structural, MEP and Specialist Contractor interfaces.
• Liaise with Clients, Consultants and Designers.
• Lead resolution of major technical issues.

E. Material & Supplier Technical Management

• Review material specifications and selections.
• Evaluate technical submissions.
• Participate in supplier qualification and technical bid evaluation.

F. Technical Development

• Develop technical training programs.
• Mentor project engineers.
• Share engineering best practices and lessons learned.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture or related disciplines.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years in construction.
• Minimum 3 years in technical management.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, hospital, data center or other large-scale projects preferred.
• Experience with international contractors preferred.
• Experience with Engineering Consultants, Design Consultants or Architectural Design Firms is highly preferred.

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of architectural finishing and building envelope systems.
• Ability to review Shop Drawings, Material Submittals and Method Statements.
• Strong constructability and technical problem-solving capability.

Standards

• ASTM, BS, EN, ISO, TIS, NFPA, FM Global preferred.

Software

• AutoCAD, Microsoft Office required.
• Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam and BIM software preferred.

Language

• English: Able to lead technical meetings and communicate professionally.
• Thai: Able to communicate effectively with local clients, consultants, suppliers and site teams.

Professional Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional engineering registration is preferred.
• Candidates holding a valid Professional Engineer license in their respective country or region will be given preference.
