Technical Manager

About the role

This is a deeply hands-on technical leadership role requiring excellent execution, daily programming involvement, and direct team supervision. Reporting to the CEO and the Senior IT Manager, you will be the core driver of our software engineering lifecycle and data infrastructure. You are a senior engineer at heart who thrives on writing production code, designing scalable data pipelines, and debugging alongside your team. You will lead our programming team from the front lines, bridging high-level IT strategy with rigorous data-driven execution.

Key responsibilities

• Personally design scalable architectures and write/refactor critical backend logic, web services, and reusable React component libraries for our global multi-brand platform (CRM, POS, booking engines, web/mobile products)
• Develop scalable APIs and modern data pipelines that support seamless real-time communication across multiple services, platforms, and third-party tools
• Design structured data models suitable for advanced business intelligence analytics, reporting, and predictive machine learning applications
• Supervise and implement complex integrations with external platforms, including Facebook Graph API, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (GTM), marketing automation tools, and Consent Management Platforms (CMP)
• Partner closely with marketing and analytics teams to ensure accurate tracking, data governance, privacy compliance, and to enable AI-powered insights for data-driven decision-making
• Directly oversee a lean, agile programming team. Foster a collaborative engineering culture by driving Agile methodologies, conducting rigorous code reviews, and mentoring developers through pair programming
• Implement and optimize DevOps practices (CI/CD deployment pipelines), manage cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), and containerization to ensure platform stability and security

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a strictly technical discipline
• Minimum of 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a definitive hands-on role supervising programming teams (e.g., Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Development Manager)
• Exceptional production-level proficiency across Node.js, React.js, Java, Python, and PHP
• Advanced design skills in databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis). Direct experience with tracking tools (GA/GTM), API integrations (Facebook Graph API), and data infrastructure (Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Deep familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and strong hands-on experience in DevOps practices (CI/CD), Cloud services (AWS/Azure), Serverless, and Docker
• Proven track record in high-transaction B2C digital spaces, such as Medical/Healthcare, Retail, FinTech, E-commerce, or Hospitality
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
