Technical Manager – Construction | Estimating & Drafting (remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager with strong expertise in drafting, estimating, and construction documentation. The role is responsible for reviewing designs, checking plans, and ensuring technical accuracy across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and oversee technical drawings and construction documentation.
• Perform accurate project estimating, quantity take-offs, and cost assessments.
• Check architectural, structural, and engineering designs and plans for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify design issues, discrepancies, and potential construction challenges.
• Coordinate with drafters, estimators, engineers, builders, and project teams.
• Ensure drawings and documentation meet project requirements, standards, and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and practical solutions to drafting and estimating issues.
• Review design changes and assess their impact on project scope and costs.

About you

• Proven experience as a Technical Manager or in a similar construction/technical role.
• Expert-level knowledge of drafting and estimating.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and check construction drawings and plans.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Australian construction experience is highly desirable.
