To support our rapidly growing road and infrastructure operations in Libya, we are looking for an experienced Technical Manager / Senior Roads Engineer.

The Role:

Technical Manager / Senior Roads Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure

Location: Benghazi, Libya

The Technical Manager will take overall responsibility for the technical coordination and engineering management of major road and infrastructure projects.

The position requires close cooperation with German executive management, project management, consultants, designers, construction teams and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical management of major road, highway and infrastructure projects
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs and technical documentation
• Coordinate design teams, consultants and site engineering departments
• Identify technical risks, inconsistencies and constructability issues at an early stage
• Develop and review method statements and construction methodologies
• Provide technical solutions for earthworks, pavement structures, drainage and road infrastructure
• Coordinate technical submissions, RFIs and approvals with consultants and clients
• Control technical compliance with project specifications and international standards
• Support quantity verification, variation evaluation and technical claims
• Ensure coordination between design, surveying, QA/QC and construction teams
• Optimize construction methods, materials and technical solutions
• Support procurement in technical evaluation of materials, equipment and subcontractors
• Establish strong technical procedures and engineering standards within Infinity
• Mentor and develop the internal engineering team
• Report directly to project and executive management

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 12+ years of professional experience in road and infrastructure engineering
• Minimum 5 years in a senior technical management position
• Proven experience with major highway, road or infrastructure projects
• Strong expertise in earthworks, pavement, asphalt, drainage and road construction
• Strong understanding of drawings, BOQs, specifications and international standards
• Experience working with consultants and international engineering companies
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
• Hands-on and implementation-focused personality
• Experience in Africa or the MENA region is highly preferred
• Excellent English communication skills mandatory
• Arabic is a strong advantage
• Willingness to relocate to Benghazi, Libya

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional engineering qualification is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of international road and infrastructure standards
