Technical Officer (Civil Engineering) (Building Development & Construction)

What You'll Do:

Be part of the team that oversees all substation building development and construction works of SPPG. You will work with senior officer(s) to execute and implement all necessary works safely, in compliance and on schedule.

Your day-to-day task will include but not limited to:

• Provide site access for contractors and/or consultants carrying out works within live substations.
• Attend daily toolbox meetings with contractors and ensure all site activities comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and project safety regulations.
• Supervise building and civil works in accordance with endorsed construction and shop drawings, ensuring that works are carried out in compliance with SPPG functional requirements.
• Monitor and report the project schedule to senior officer(s).
• Witness testing and commissioning (T&C) of essential building services, e.g. fire protection systems, building security systems, etc.
• Coordinate with Cable, Switchgear & Transformer project teams and their Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for Equipment Access
• Coordinate the inspection and handover of Building with asset owners
• Conduct site surveys with contractors and/or consultants for upgrading/future development.
• Coordinate the takeover of substations from the respective Operational and Maintenance sections.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised Polytechnic in Singapore.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience in Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital engineering solutions for design coordination, project management and construction technology (e.g. robotics/automation) will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.
• Able to work independently, as well as in a team in a challenging environment
• Highly motivated individual with a positive attitude.
