What they need

About us:

GO.FARM is an Australian-owned, high-conviction agricultural investor, developer and manager with a clear purpose: to transform Australian agriculture.

We identify underutilised and undercapitalised agricultural assets and reimagine them through land use change, investment in people, and adoption of climate-smart technologies. Our investment decisions and operations are underpinned by our Responsible Agriculture Framework, which guides our stewardship of natural capital, people and communities.

About the role:

We’re looking for a Technical Officer to join our horticulture team, supporting the health and performance of our almond and citrus orchards.

Reporting to the Senior Agronomist, this is a hands-on technical role with a strong focus on crop monitoring, pest and disease management, tree health and providing practical insights to support orchard decision-making.

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake regular pest and disease scouting across almond and citrus orchards.
  • Prepare and circulate monitoring reports and provide recommendations on pest and disease management strategies.
  • Monitor, track and record tree phenology and variety trial performance.
  • Conduct yield assessments and support crop forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate and undertake soil and leaf sampling for nutrient analysis.
  • Complete technical assessments including fruit sizing, profiling and Brix testing.
  • Participate in field walks, consultant inspections and other technical reviews.
  • Work closely with orchard teams to support best-practice horticultural management.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and communicate emerging issues and trends to the Senior Agronomist and operational teams.
  • Support high standards of farm hygiene, biosecurity, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical practices, systems and ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, contractors, consultants and other external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as required.

About you:

You’re naturally curious, enjoy being out in the field and like turning observations into practical solutions. You take pride in doing things well, communicate clearly and are comfortable working closely with both operational and technical teams.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A relevant qualification in agriculture, horticulture, agronomy or a related discipline.
  • A sound understanding of horticultural pest and disease identification and management.
  • Strong observation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A willingness to ask questions, learn and continuously improve.
  • A commitment to safety, quality and high operating standards.
  • A current driver’s licence.

Why work for GO.FARM:

We're serious about building long-term careers in agriculture. You'll benefit from:

  • Real investment in your development, including 5% of your annual salary dedicated to learning
  • Flexibility through enhanced leave options, salary sacrifice opportunities, and competitive incentives
  • Access to growth programs focused on building long-term careers in agriculture
  • Wellbeing programs that support your financial, physical, and mental health

In addition, this role is offering

  • Base salary between $75,000 - $90,000 per annum
  • Short Term Incentive (STI) of up to 10% of your salary
  • Company vehicle for business use
  • Phone allowance
