Job Description
About the Role
As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and smooth operation of our systems and integrations. You will serve as the main point of contact for system issues and enhancement requests, working across multiple teams to diagnose problems, implement fixes, and support system improvements.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution—translating operational requirements into clear technical specifications, coordinating with engineering teams, and ensuring timely delivery of features, fixes, and system updates. You will also be hands-on in monitoring system performance, troubleshooting incidents, and driving continuous improvements in workflows and system processes.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, has strong analytical and technical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where cross-functional collaboration is essential.
What You'll Do
- Act as the main contact for system issues and enhancement requests, ensuring timely diagnosis and resolution.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and system improvements.
- Monitor system health, performance, and uptime while coordinating releases, patches, and updates.
- Support integrations between internal and external systems (APIs, data pipelines, third-party tools).
- Identify inefficiencies in operational workflows and recommend improvements or automation.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for system processes, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Product, Ops, and QA to ensure smooth delivery of features and fixes.
- Communicate system changes, risks, and impacts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
- Assess risks and impacts for system changes, ensuring adherence to reliability and compliance standards.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Technical Operations, System Analyst, or similar roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to debug system issues.
- Solid understanding of web technologies, APIs, databases, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with operational and project management tools such as monitoring dashboards, log management tools, Jira, and Confluence.
- Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and vice versa.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and validating data.
- Basic Linux OS knowledge and familiarity with Shell/UNIX commands.
- Knowledge of incident management and escalation practices (ITIL/SRE exposure is a plus).
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and handle different types of customer or internal inquiries.
- Self-motivated and able to multitask efficiently.
- Experience in SaaS or platform-based environments and exposure to CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
