Technical Performance Analyst (Python / SQL), London [Onsite, 5 days/wk]

Up to £100,000 base + discretionary bonus [depending on experience]

We are working with a global investment house, with a long track record of performance, that is looking to hire a Technical Performance & Attribution Analyst to join the group in London.

The firm is going through a period of significant data transformation and is modernising how performance is produced, controlled and reported. This hire will play a key technical role in that change, with real scope to influence how the performance function modernises. Alongside core performance and attribution analytics, they will use Python, SQL and AI/ML tooling to automate processes, improve data quality and make workflows faster and more efficient.

The team is lean, so the remit is broad and there is real scope to make an impact. That includes helping shape a centralised data platform, replacing manual processes with automated ones, and finding practical ways to apply AI across the performance function. This will suit someone with a strong performance background who is comfortable writing code and experienced in the enablement and adoption of emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Produce and validate investment performance, performance statistics and attribution analysis across multiple asset classes, including fixed income, equities and alternatives
• Design and build Python and SQL tools that automate performance calculations, data checks, reconciliations and reporting, reducing manual and spreadsheet-based work
• Help drive the adoption of AI and machine learning tools to streamline performance workflows, improve efficiency and strengthen data quality controls
• Contribute to the firm’s data transformation, including the development of a centralised data platform and Power BI reporting, while supporting GIPS maintenance and new fund and benchmark onboarding
• Analyse and explain key return drivers for investment teams, distribution and other stakeholders, and partner with the Pricing & Data team to maintain data integrity within a strong control framework

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in investment performance measurement, attribution and reporting, gained in asset management or asset servicing
• Strong, hands-on Python and SQL skills, with a track record of automating processes or building data tools in a performance or investment operations setting
• Practical experience with, or strong interest in, using AI and ML tools to improve workflows and efficiency
• A solid understanding of performance calculation methodologies, attribution analysis and GIPS standards, and experience with systems such as SimCorp Dimension, Aladdin, FactSet, StatPro/Confluence or Eagle
• Strong analytical and communication skills and close attention to detail. CFA or CIPM (or progress towards either) would be advantageous, as would fixed income experience
