Technical Product Owner

We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Owner to join our R&D team and take ownership of translating business and customer needs into well-defined technical solutions.

You will operate at the intersection of product, engineering and customer needs , working with development, QA, architecture and product teams across Romania and Israel. The role requires someone who is comfortable working with complex technical systems, challenging unclear requirements and turning them into specifications that can be implemented and tested with confidence.

What you will do

• Own the requirement definition process, from an initial business idea, customer request or problem statement through to detailed and actionable technical requirements.
• Investigate unclear or incomplete requests, identify missing information, challenge assumptions and ensure potential gaps are addressed before implementation begins.
• Define system-level requirements, including APIs, interfaces, integrations, data flows, system constraints and non-functional requirements .
• Convert high-level requirements into structured epics, user stories, technical specifications and clear acceptance criteria .
• Manage and continuously refine the product backlog, helping teams maintain a clear understanding of priorities and scope.
• Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to ensure requirements are technically realistic, scalable and reusable across different projects.
• Partner with QA throughout the development lifecycle, including defining edge cases, complex scenarios and testable expected outcomes.
• Serve as a key point of connection between customers, product stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the delivered solution addresses the actual business need.
• Support product releases by contributing to readiness activities, documentation, training materials and release planning.
• Monitor the product after delivery and identify improvements to both the solution and the requirements-definition process.
• Take ownership of open questions and decisions, helping remove blockers and keeping delivery on track.

What we're looking for

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field .
• 6+ years of experience in a technical position , such as software development, systems engineering, architecture or a comparable role.
• At least 3 years of experience in system engineering, solution definition, technical product ownership or a similar requirements-focused position .
• Experience working on technically complex products or projects involving multiple components, integrations and stakeholder groups.
• Strong ability to transform ambiguous business or customer input into precise, complete and testable requirements .
• Good understanding of backend technologies, including APIs, databases, integrations and data flows .
• Practical experience with Agile product development and requirements management, including backlogs, epics, user stories and acceptance criteria .
• Excellent written and spoken English .
• Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with distributed teams across multiple locations.
• Ability to think beyond immediate delivery needs and consider scalability, reusability and long-term product direction .
• A strong sense of ownership, accountability and follow-through, with the ability to make or drive decisions and quickly unblock development teams.

Nice to have

• Experience working with big data technologies or AI/ML-driven product capabilities .
• Previous experience in defense, intelligence, cybersecurity or other environments where requirements quality and technical precision are critical .
