What they need
Technical Program Manager
Product Engineering – Battery Systems
Acculon Energy Inc.
Acculon Energy is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the execution of advanced battery module and pack development programs from customer requirements through validation, qualification, and production readiness.
This is a highly visible role at the intersection of engineering, customers, and commercialization. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, thermal, packaging, BMS, product integration, and customer teams to keep complex battery development programs aligned, moving forward, and ready for successful customer qualification.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with exceptional program leadership. You don't need to be the person designing every component—but you need to understand the technology well enough to ask the right questions, identify risks early, drive decisions, and communicate confidently with both engineers and customers.
Reporting to the Director of Products, this position plays a critical role in helping Acculon turn innovative battery technology into successfully launched customer products.
What You'll DoLead Battery Product Development Programs
- Own integrated development and customer qualification plans for battery modules and packs.
- Establish program milestones, deliverables, technical gates, and success criteria.
- Drive execution from product architecture and detailed design through system integration, validation, and customer qualification.
- Maintain clear visibility into schedules, dependencies, risks, and release readiness.
Be the Technical Program Interface to Customers
- Serve as the primary technical program point of contact for assigned customers.
- Lead customer program reviews, technical progress meetings, schedule discussions, and qualification updates.
- Provide customers with clear, accurate, and consistent visibility into program status.
- Build confidence by anticipating issues and addressing risks before they become surprises.
Translate Customer Requirements into Execution
- Capture and manage customer requirements for performance, environment, interfaces, validation, and qualification.
- Translate customer expectations into actionable requirements for Acculon's engineering teams.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout development and validation.
- Manage requirement changes and assess their impact on schedule, resources, testing, and qualification.
Coordinate Cross-Functional Engineering
Work across Acculon's technical organization, including:
- Electrical engineering
- Mechanical and packaging engineering
- Thermal engineering
- BMS hardware and software development
- Product integration
- System validation and testing
You'll help ensure that technical interfaces, ownership boundaries, handoffs, and customer commitments remain aligned across the program.
Drive Validation & Customer Qualification
- Coordinate pilot builds, customer acceptance testing, qualification testing, and deployments.
- Align Acculon's internal validation activities with customer qualification requirements.
- Track validation findings and corrective actions through closure.
- Support internal Technical Release Readiness Reviews and customer design/readiness reviews.
Manage Risk, Change & Program Decisions
- Identify and track technical, schedule, integration, validation, and customer acceptance risks.
- Drive mitigation plans and escalate issues requiring leadership decisions.
- Evaluate the program impact of engineering changes and customer-driven scope changes.
- Ensure changes are reviewed through appropriate engineering and program governance.
What Success Looks Like
You'll know you're succeeding when:
- Customer milestones are delivered on time.
- Engineering teams understand exactly what customers require.
- Customer expectations match delivered product performance.
- Technical and qualification risks are identified early rather than late.
- Customer-driven rework and last-minute surprises decrease.
- Program status, risks, and decisions are communicated clearly.
- Products move smoothly from development through qualification and commercialization.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who can operate comfortably in both the technical details and the big-picture program plan.
A strong candidate will bring:
- Experience managing complex technical or product-development programs.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams and technical customers.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary electromechanical products or systems.
- Ability to manage schedules, requirements, dependencies, risks, and technical deliverables simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence leading meetings with customers, engineers, and company leadership.
- Ability to organize ambiguous technical problems and drive teams toward clear decisions and deliverables.
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
Experience with battery systems, electrification, energy storage, automotive, off-highway equipment, aerospace/defense, industrial equipment, or other highly engineered products is especially valuable.
Why Acculon Energy?
Battery development doesn't succeed simply because the technology works. Products must meet customer requirements, survive validation, integrate successfully into customer systems, and reach qualification on schedule.
At Acculon, the Technical Program Manager helps make that happen.
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced battery, BMS, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing professionals developing advanced energy-storage products for demanding commercial and industrial applications.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building products, solving problems, working with customers, and turning engineering innovation into real-world products.
Key Relationships
You'll work closely with:
- Director of Products
- Product Engineering
- Manager of Product Integration
- Director of BMS Development
- Sales and Customer Engineering
