About Radiant

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to 5 years without refueling. Portable nuclear power with rapid-deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators and provide critical asset support for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Radiant’s unique, practical approach to nuclear development leverages modern software engineering to rapidly deliver safe, factory-built microreactors that use existing, well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory this summer, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.

Technical Program Manager, Government
Radiant is building a first-of-its-kind reactor, and delivering it to some of the most demanding customers in the world.

As a Technical Program Manager in Radiant’s Commercial organization, your job is to deliver on our government contracts. You will own the end-to-end process, serving as the single point of accountability for all contract deliverables, from technical milestones through reactor deployment.

Within Radiant, your key points of contact will be the licensing, state engagement, engineering, and manufacturing teams. This role has full responsibility for delivering on Radiant’s most important customer projects. You will operate with wide latitude and direct access to company leadership.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Drive contract milestones to completion.
  • Manage the timely execution of regulatory, engineering, and siting deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary interface with contracting officers, program offices, installation personnel, and end users.
  • Architect and maintain program integrated master schedules and cost baselines, ensuring internal teams and subcontractors are aligned to contract obligations.
  • Manage contract compliance including reporting requirements and milestone billing; support negotiation of contract modifications and change orders.
  • Independently identify, assess, and drive resolution of programmatic risks and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Own program financial performance, including budget and resource forecasting.
  • Stand up and refine the project management processes, tools, and reporting cadence needed to provide clear visibility to company leadership and consistent milestone updates to customer partners.
  • Carry the customer’s voice back to Radiant, shaping engineering and deployment decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in program management or project management.
  • Experience managing programs requiring the delivery of complex capital equipment or large-scale industrial systems.
  • Experience supporting U.S. government programs.
  • Proven ability to manage programs with significant technical complexity, multiple parallel workstreams, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • U.S. citizenship required (absolutely no exceptions); ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with electric power infrastructure projects and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services.
  • Experience building and/or deploying infrastructure at DoD installations.
  • Direct working knowledge of FAR/DFARS compliance, government contract types (cost-plus, FFP, T&M), and federal reporting and audit requirements.
  • Active DoD security clearance.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.
  • Must work 100% onsite at Radiant’s El Segundo HQ.

Benefits and Perks

  • Stock: Substantial incentive stock plan for all full-time employees.
  • Medical: 100% up to base silver level plan for employee + 50% dependents, offers up to Platinum plans.
  • One Medical: Sponsored memberships for employees and their dependents.
  • Vision: 100% top tier plan coverage + 50% for dependents.
  • Dental: 100% top tier plan coverage, orthodontia extra, 50% for dependents.
  • Voluntary life, accident, hospital, critical illness, commuter and FSA/HSA are offered as employee contributed benefits.
  • 8-weeks of paid parental leave for all parents. Additional paid pregnancy leave for CA employees.
  • Daily catered lunch. Free snacks and drinks.
  • Flexible PTO policy. Remote workday allocation.
  • Company and team-bonding events, happy hours and in-person camaraderie.
  • Beautiful El Segundo headquarters close to the Pacific Ocean.
