Technical Project Manager (TPM) – Data Center Infrastructure

Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)

Contract - C2C/W2/1099

Pay Rate: $70/hr (negotiable based on experience and engagement type)

Key Requirements:

1. Strong Project/Program Management experience, specifically in the IT Infrastructure space.
2. Prior experience in large scale data-center buildout projects is a bonus.
3. Must be willing to travel across the US to visit data center sites, when required.

What You’ll Do

• Manage data center build-outs and expansions from kickoff through deployment, commissioning, and operational handoff.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, action logs, decision logs, and risk trackers.
• Coordinate internal technical teams and external vendors, including colocation providers, contractors, network carriers, and hardware suppliers.
• Oversee site readiness, including rack layouts, power, cooling, cabling, connectivity, equipment delivery, installation, and access requirements.
• Coordinate deployment of servers, storage, networking, GPU systems, and supporting infrastructure.
• Track procurement, hardware lead times, vendor commitments, delivery schedules, and project dependencies.
• Lead project meetings, track action items, resolve blockers, and ensure timely follow-through.
• Conduct site visits as needed to monitor progress and coordinate issue resolution.
• Ensure requirements for capacity, redundancy, security, connectivity, and operational readiness are met.
• Coordinate acceptance testing, commissioning, punch-list closure, documentation, and transition to operations.
• Provide concise leadership and customer updates on progress, risks, budget, decisions, and next steps.
• Develop repeatable checklists, templates, and processes to improve project delivery.

Required Experience

• Experience in project management, data center infrastructure, IT operations, construction, telecom, cloud delivery, or managed services.
• Proven ability to coordinate vendors, contractors, customers, and technical teams.
• Familiarity with data center facilities, servers, racks, networking, power, cooling, cabling, storage, and security infrastructure.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, dependency tracking, risk management, and follow-through skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive and customer status reporting.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple workstreams.
• Willingness to travel locally or nationally to data center sites as required.
