What they need
Description:
C. Mack Solutions is seeking a Technical Project Manager with significant hands-on agile experience to join our team. This role will support a complex program providing new technology solutions, operations and maintenance, as well as consulting services for a Federal Government client. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our team is able to deliver innovative solutions on time and within budget, exceeding client expectations. You must have a strong enough technical acumen to understand the concepts and domain to communicate effectively with clients and the team. Your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and stakeholders will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent technical initiatives, from planning through deployment or completion, using Agile methodologies. Responsible for making delivery recommendations based on balancing client demands and team capacity/capability.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, daily standup) to maintain team alignment and delivery momentum.
- Partner with technical leads, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate objectives into prioritized, actionable work.
- Manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and resources across multiple initiatives.
- Serve as a primary client and stakeholder interface, driving prioritization decisions, facilitating working sessions, demonstrations, status meetings, and decision-making.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and proactively identify and remove obstacles to delivery.
- Support projects involving emerging technologies, AI, data, automation, and modern application development, including both production and exploratory initiatives.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical teams and senior leadership
- Provide concise, executive-level visibility into project health, progress, risks, priorities, and upcoming milestones.
- Continuously improve team delivery practices, processes, and ways of working while maintaining a lean, outcomes-focused Agile environment
- Must be able to work on-site in Ashburn, VA 1-2 days per week
Requirements:
You must live within the DC, MD, VA area.
U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must have an Active CBP Public Trust clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
- 3+ years of experience in a scrum master or technical project manager role for Federal Government IT programs
- Agile Certification (CSM or equivalent)
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams create structure when requirements or technology are still evolving.
- Strong technical curiosity and the ability to quickly understand new technologies and concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to move comfortably between developers, clients, and executives.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around dependencies, commitments, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and client needs while effectively building relationships.
Preferred Skill and Experience:
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Possess a bias towards action and problem solving, not just reporting
- Proven ability to operate in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment
