Technical Project Manager – Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technical Technical Project Manager (Tech PM) to lead our Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) implementation and web development teams onsite in Warren, MI .

In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy, marketing technology, and engineering execution. You will oversee end-to-end delivery of complex digital platform capabilities—including AEM Sites, AEM Assets (DAM), and integrations with modern front-end frameworks and enterprise backend systems. The ideal candidate has strong Agile project management discipline, deep familiarity with AEM ecosystem architectures, and a hands-on approach to removing technical blockers for development teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management & Agile Delivery

• Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, and delivery for AEM web platform initiatives, migrations, component redesigns, and release cycles.
• Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies: Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Manage project scope, timelines, resource allocation, technical risks, dependencies, and delivery budgets using Jira and Confluence.
• Maintain a well-structured, prioritized product backlog in tight alignment with Product Owners and Lead AEM Architects.

2. AEM Technical Leadership & Governance

• Partner closely with AEM Architects, Content Authors, Developers, and QA Leads to translate business requirements into detailed technical user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Oversee sprint execution across AEM Sites, AEM Assets (DAM), Core Components, Content/Experience Fragments, Dispatcher configurations, and Cloud Manager deployments.
• Drive technical governance and code quality standards across authoring environments, staging, and production rollouts.
• Manage complex cross-system integration projects connecting AEM with Adobe Analytics, Target, CDP, CRM, and third-party APIs.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination & Onsite Collaboration

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact on-site in Warren, MI for executive leadership, business stakeholders, creative agencies, and offshore engineering squads.
• Manage third-party vendor deliverables and partner teams to ensure seamlessly integrated releases.
• Conduct risk assessments, mitigate technical bottlenecks, and communicate project status, health dashboards, and release roadmaps to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of Technical Project Management experience, with at least 3+ years specifically managing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) implementations or migrations (AEM 6.x or AEM as a Cloud Service).
• Agile Expertise: Proven experience operating as a Scrum Master or Technical PM in fast-paced Agile/Scrum environments using Jira and Confluence.
• Technical Breadth: Strong technical understanding of AEM architecture (Sites, Assets, MSM, Workflows, Content Fragments, OSGi, Sling, Dispatcher, and Cloud Manager pipelines).
• Onsite Availability: Ability to work full-time on-site at our Warren, MI location.
• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMI-PMP (Project Management Professional) or CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) certification.
• Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) – AEM Business Practitioner or Sites Lead.
• Familiarity with modern front-end web development practices (HTML5, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, React/Angular) and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Prior experience in enterprise automotive, manufacturing, or large retail environments.
