What they need
Technical Projects & Sales Engineer
About us
We bring engineering know-how and quality stainless-steel fabrication together to create practical solutions for our clients. Based in East Tāmaki, we coordinate work closely with clients, suppliers and our workshop team, from the first conversation through to handover.
About the role
Bring your technical understanding, commercial judgement and project coordination together in one role. You’ll build client relationships, shape suitable work and guide projects from enquiry and quoting through to workshop delivery and handover.
What you’ll be doing
· Build relationships with existing and prospective clients and referral partners. Respond to enquiries, ask thoughtful questions and clarify what each client needs.
· Assess potential work for fit and feasibility; arrange site visits and measurements, and review drawings and specifications with colleagues to develop practical solutions.
· Scope and price quotes and tenders, gather supplier input, follow up with clients, and negotiate and secure suitable work.
· Coordinate accepted projects through design, supplier liaison, workshop fabrication, delivery and client handover.
· Keep clients, suppliers, design and administration staff, and the workshop aligned on scope, drawings, changes and timing. Track progress, priorities and issues across multiple jobs.
· Maintain the CRM, forecasts and reporting. Research growth opportunities and contribute to business planning, sales and marketing tools, product ideas and process improvements. Work within the ISO 9001 quality framework and take personal responsibility for Health and Safety.
What you bring
· Experience in engineering, manufacturing or fabrication, with practical knowledge of workshop processes and quality stainless-steel fabrication.
· A strong track record in project management and a sound understanding of business processes.
· Client-facing experience and commercial awareness, with the ability to build trust and progress opportunities.
· Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical matters in plain language.
· The ability to interpret technical drawings. AutoCAD or SolidWorks knowledge is useful, and a trade or related engineering qualification is essential.
· A curious, practical and persistent approach, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You work well with others and can manage competing priorities.
· A full, clean driver’s licence is required; experience in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical or related industries is an advantage.
Why join us
· See projects through from the first client conversation to fabrication and handover.
· Combine client relationships, technical problem-solving and project coordination in one varied role.
· Work closely with clients, suppliers and the workshop team, where clear communication helps shape the result.
· Contribute ideas that support business growth and improve how work gets done.
