What they need

Technical Property Manager

French Riviera, France | Full-time, permanent | Webster Hart France

About Webster Hart

Webster Hart manages exceptional private estates, residences and property portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices across the UK and Europe. We provide tailored estate and property management, project management and financial administration, with discretion and service excellence at the heart of our work.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Property Manager to oversee the maintenance, technical systems and building services of a prestigious private estate on the French Riviera.

Working exclusively with one client and reporting to the Estate Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the estate's buildings, infrastructure and specialist systems are maintained to the highest standards, providing a seamless experience for the principals and their guests.

This is a practical and hands-on role focused on maintenance coordination, technical oversight and problem solving. You will work closely with contractors, specialist suppliers and Webster Hart's wider property and project management teams to ensure the estate operates efficiently and reliably at all times.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and operation of buildings, facilities and technical systems across the estate.
  • Plan and monitor preventative maintenance programmes, ensuring service schedules, asset records and compliance documentation remain accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct regular inspections and identify maintenance requirements before they become operational issues.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers and specialist providers, obtaining quotations and overseeing works through to completion.
  • Troubleshoot technical and property-related issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Monitor maintenance expenditure and support budget planning for future works.
  • Coordinate technical upgrades, refurbishments and estate improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and statutory requirements.
  • Support the Estate Manager during periods of residence to ensure the estate is fully prepared for the principals and their guests.
  • Provide clear reporting on maintenance activity, technical issues and project progress.

Technical environment

You will need a sound working knowledge of building services, particularly electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. The estate also includes AV, IPTV, Crestron and other home automation systems, along with pools, plunge pools, spa and wellness facilities, and water treatment systems.

These facilities are expected to operate reliably and to exacting standards. You should be comfortable monitoring performance, coordinating specialist providers and anticipating issues before they affect the client experience.

About you

You are organised, proactive and technically minded, with the confidence to take ownership of maintenance and property-related matters while working as part of a wider estate management team.

You may currently be working in a luxury residential property, private estate, premium hospitality, resort, superyacht or high-end facilities environment. Equally, you may be working as a Technical Manager, Property Maintenance Manager, Building Services Manager, Chief Engineer or in a similar role involving complex property systems and contractor management.

You enjoy solving problems, have excellent attention to detail and take pride in delivering consistently high standards.

Essential requirements

  • Fluent French and professional working English.
  • Experience managing contractors and specialist service providers.
  • Good technical knowledge of building services and property systems.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activity within a residential, hospitality, marine or comparable environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and sound independent judgement.
  • Right to work in France.

Desirable experience

  • Crestron, home automation or smart building systems.
  • Pools, spas, wellness facilities or water treatment systems.
  • Project coordination or project management.
  • Experience supporting UHNW individuals, families or family offices.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A permanent position supporting one exceptional private estate on the French Riviera.
  • Responsibility for the estate's technical and maintenance operations.
  • The opportunity to work with sophisticated residential systems and facilities.
  • Support from an experienced Estate Manager and Webster Hart's wider property and project management teams.

Important information

The family's main period of residence is in August. You must be available throughout that month, and annual leave cannot be taken during August. This is not a live-in position.

If you bring strong technical judgement, a practical approach and a commitment to exceptional service, we would be pleased to hear from you.
