Technical QA/QC Inspector – Building Systems

SPECIALIST SYSTEM INSPECTOR

About the role. join a call-off panel providing targeted, OEM-certified inspection and testing of high-value or high-complexity systems: elevators, fire pumps, computer-room air-conditioning (CRAC) units, SCADA and industrial controls. Your independent test reports and certificates confirm whether system performance meets Specialist System KRIs and statutory and manufacturer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out specialist inspections, tests and performance checks to OEM procedures and relevant standards.
• Issue clear, factual test reports and certificates summarising results, deviations and recommendations.
• Advise on the seriousness of defects and their impact on safety, reliability and service quality.
• Advise the Hard Service Manager on remedial measures where performance is non-compliant or degraded.
• Support root-cause analysis for complex or recurring issues.
• Provide independent confirmation when systems return to service after major repair or modification.

Scope of authority

• May recommend removal from service or restricted operation where serious defects are found, subject to FM Manager agreement.
• May advise on remedial works and retesting.
• May not approve design changes or long-term asset strategies.

Qualifications and experience

• Technical qualification in the specialist area, e.g. elevator engineering, fire-pump systems or control systems.
• Current OEM certification or recognised competency.
• Several years of hands-on experience commissioning, maintaining or inspecting the relevant systems.

Knowledge and skills

• Deep knowledge of the specific system or equipment type.
• Applicable codes, standards and OEM test procedures.
• Using specialist test equipment and interpreting results.
• Writing short, factual reports suitable as formal evidence.

• Strong focus on safety, reliability and compliance.
• Comfortable with call-off work in varying site conditions.

• Timely completion of agreed inspections and reports.
• Clarity and usefulness of reports for assurance and decisions.
• Reduction in repeated failures on inspected systems.
• Feedback from the Independent Supervisor function and FM Manager.

Working conditions. Short, focused site visits, often during shutdowns or outside normal hours.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: QAR8,000.00 - QAR9,000.00 per hour
