About 3Y Health 3Y Health is building the operating system for healthcare practices, an AI-native platform that helps clinicians start, run and grow their practice. We work as a managed services organization (MSO): along with the software, our operations team runs the back office for the clinics we partner with, including billing, insurance and compliance. We currently serve applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy practices and are expanding into other specialties. We're backed by Founders Fund, General Catalyst, SoftBank and 8VC.

About The Role Our engineering team is small, flat and AI-native, so every engineer we add changes what we can build. For this four-month engagement, you'll find them through your own network, the country's top universities and their computer science and engineering departments, and the local engineering community. You'll screen every candidate yourself and bring the strongest into our interview process, working directly with our Chief of Staff. If it goes well, the engagement can extend into broader recruiting or another role.

What You'll Do

• Find top engineers in Uruguay through your network, the leading universities and their computer science and engineering departments (such as Universidad de la República's Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad ORT Uruguay, Universidad Católica del Uruguay and Universidad de Montevideo), and local engineering communities
• Write personal, specific outreach that top engineers reply to
• Calibrate with our team on what great looks like, starting from the resumes of strong Uruguayan engineers we've already hired
• Run the first screen with every candidate, and pass the strongest to our engineering team for a short screen and then our standard interview process
• Build and maintain a talent map of Uruguay's strongest engineers: the programs and classes they came from and the companies where they work today
• Keep candidates moving through our process in Ashby, and report the funnel every week: outreach, replies, screens, pass-through rates and hires
• Use AI tools for sourcing, research and outreach, and turn what works into repeatable workflows
• Improve how engineers experience 3Y Health, from job posts to interviews to offers
• Share what you learn about the Uruguayan engineering market, such as pay expectations, competing offers and which channels work

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of technical recruiting or sourcing in Uruguay's tech industry, in-house or at an agency
• A strong network in Uruguay's engineering community, including the universities, their computer science and engineering faculties, student groups and alumni. Be ready to walk us through engineers you've found and hired.
• Strong sourcing skills. You can find great engineers who aren't on job boards and get them to reply.
• Technical literacy. You understand software stacks well enough to read a GitHub profile, ask good screening questions and tell a strong engineer from a keyword match. You know what AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor are, and why our engineers care about them.
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience with an applicant tracking system such as Ashby, Greenhouse or Lever, and with LinkedIn Recruiter
• Heavy daily use of AI tools in your recruiting work
• High agency and ownership. You run your own pipeline and don't need to be managed.
• Based in Uruguay and able to work mostly US East Coast hours

Nice to have

• Studied computer science or engineering at a top Uruguayan university, or have close ties to one
• Experience recruiting engineers for US startups
• Recruiting for AI, machine learning or developer-tools companies
• Experience running university recruiting, hackathons or engineering community events

Engagement This is a four-month independent contractor engagement with 3Y Health, not an employment contract. As a contractor, you're responsible for your own taxes and registration in Uruguay.
