Technical Sales Engineer

About the role

Pastry Pro is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Technical Sales Engineer to drive business growth by identifying opportunities, building strong customer relationships, promoting our products and solutions, and achieving sales targets. You will combine technical knowledge with consultative selling to understand customer needs and recommend the right equipment and solutions for cafés, bakeries, restaurants and other food-service businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through customer visits, networking, market research and outbound sales activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, prospective customers and key decision-makers.
• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products, equipment and solutions.
• Prepare and present sales proposals and quotations, and follow up on leads, enquiries and business opportunities.
• Achieve agreed sales targets and business objectives, including revenue, margin and market growth.
• Manage pre- and post-sales accounts while providing excellent customer service and consultative technical support.
• Identify opportunities for product upgrades, replacements and increased product penetration.
• Provide practical technical support and respond promptly to customer complaints, service requests and technical enquiries.
• Coordinate with the Technical Team on equipment installation, setup, commissioning and resolution of technical issues.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, industry developments and customer feedback to identify emerging opportunities and market needs.

Job Requirement

• Diploma or certificate in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline; candidates with strong relevant hands-on experience may also be considered.
• Experience in field service, technical support, equipment maintenance, refrigeration, HVAC, commercial kitchen equipment, food-processing machinery or technical sales is an advantage.
• Candidates from transferable backgrounds such as industrial machinery, pumps, compressors, air-conditioning, electrical systems or electromechanical equipment are encouraged to apply.
• Able to troubleshoot technical issues and read or learn to read basic electrical, electronic or refrigeration diagrams.
• Comfortable working at customer sites and travelling within Malaysia.
• Customer-oriented, responsible and able to communicate technical information clearly.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Technical Team.
• Good computer literacy and basic reporting skills.
• Mandarin-speaking ability will be an advantage.
