Technical Sales Engineer

RCR Mining Technologies is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing business development team based in Welshpool

This is an exciting opportunity for an people focused person who can combine there engineering professionalism to under our clients challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions. Combining relationships, technical expertise with commercial acumen, you'll work closely with clients across the Mining, Defence, Rail and Renewable Energy sectors, helping turn complex operational problems into successful engineering outcomes.

Backed by a multidisciplinary team of more than 50 engineers and designers, you'll play a key role in identifying opportunities, shaping solutions and supporting projects from concept through to delivery.

About the Role

As the Technical Sales Engineer - Client Solutions, you will serve as the critical link between our clients and our engineering teams. You'll develop a deep understanding of customer operations, build trusted relationships, and help deliver solutions that are practical, commercially sound and aligned with real-world delivery capabilities.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you'll be involved from early engagement and concept development through to execution and ongoing lifecycle support.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients across Mining, Defence, Rail and Renewables.
• Engage with customers to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Translate client requirements into practical and executable engineering solutions.
• Support opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage studies through to delivery and aftermarket support.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing and project delivery teams.
• Contribute to technical and commercial proposals, tenders and solution development.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, value engineering and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A tertiary qualification in one of the following, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Hydraulics or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with OEM equipment, heavy industry, mining equipment or complex industrial systems.
• A passion for hands-on engineering and delivering practical outcomes.
• The ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, from workshop personnel through to senior decision-makers.
• A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to understand customer needs.
