Our Client is an industrial chemicals company. We are looking for Technical Sales Engineer (Surface Finishing). This position is responsible for proposing chemical and surface treatment technologies to customers in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

The role combines technical sales, customer relationship management and on-site troubleshooting. You will work closely with customers, engineers and technicians to understand manufacturing challenges and recommend suitable chemical and surface-finishing solutions.

This is an individual contributor role with opportunities to work with customers and technology partners across Southeast Asia.

【Responsibilities】

• Support semiconductor and electronics plating customers with bath analysis, process troubleshooting, qualification trials, bath change-outs and technical documentation.
• Respond to surface finishing enquiries involving electroless nickel, anodizing, chemical polishing, pretreatment and cleaning.
• Conduct laboratory and on-site tests, including titrations, Hull cell tests and basic inspections. Turn findings into practical recommendations for customers.
• Prepare trial plans, technical reports and customer-facing summaries.
• Work with technology principals on complex technical issues, new products and training.
• Identify opportunities for additional applications and sales. Prepare quotations, conduct account reviews and visit customers.
• Collaborate with regional engineering teams in Indonesia and Thailand, and travel within Southeast Asia as required.
• Follow safe chemical handling practices and customers’ environmental, health and safety requirements.

【Requirements & Preferences】

• Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3–6 years of hands-on experience in electroplating or surface finishing, gained in a plating facility, PCB or substrate manufacturer, semiconductor facility, chemical supplier or similar environment.
• Practical experience troubleshooting production line processes.
• Proficiency in English for technical reports and communication with customers and internal teams. Mandarin proficiency is required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders on technical and commercial matters.
• Ability to manage customer relationships and explain technical findings clearly.
• Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, and attend approximately one month of technical training in Osaka, Japan.

(Advantageous)

• Process control experience involving electroless nickel, acid copper or anodizing.
• Exposure to customer qualification work or audits in semiconductor or automotive supply chains.
• Experience working with Japanese companies.
