What they need

Ambrose Construct Group is seeking an experienced construction professional with a strong background in building estimating, repair scoping, insurance building, or residential construction to join our growing team as an Insurance Repair Specialist.

This role would suit experienced building estimators, supervisors, insurance builders, restoration professionals, or trade-qualified construction professionals who have strong expertise in repair scoping, methodology assessment, quality assurance, and construction best practice.

This position offers the opportunity to leverage your construction expertise while influencing repair outcomes, stakeholder confidence, and continuous business improvement.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing building scopes and repair methodologies to ensure they meet industry standards, insurer requirements, building regulations, and internal quality expectations.
  • Providing technical guidance and support on complex repair strategies, tender reviews, specialist reports, and scope assessments.
  • Evaluating technical documentation and construction recommendations to ensure repair outcomes are practical, compliant, and defensible.
  • Preparing and reviewing detailed technical reports, recommendations, and scope validations.
  • Collaborating with operational teams, estimators, supervisors, and stakeholders to achieve consistent and high-quality outcomes.
  • Assisting with staff development through technical coaching, auditing, training support, and performance reviews.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across processes, documentation standards, systems, and workflows.
  • Supporting the business in maintaining exceptional quality assurance and risk management practices.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience within the residential construction industry, with trade qualifications highly regarded (Carpentry preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential building practices, including deconstruction, reconstruction, remediation, and repair works.
  • Proven experience assessing repair methodologies and building defects within insurance, construction, or restoration environments.
  • The ability to interpret specialist reports and translate technical findings into practical repair recommendations.
  • Experience auditing, reviewing, and preparing detailed building scopes, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of construction compliance requirements, relevant legislation, and industry standards.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills and the confidence to engage with clients, contractors, assessors, and internal teams.
  • Experience supporting team capability through mentoring, training, quality reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work autonomously and exercise sound professional judgement.
  • A commitment to safety, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.

What We Offer

  • Competitive remuneration aligned with your experience and expertise.
  • A supportive and collaborative workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and professional growth.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program.
  • A $2,000 Employee Referral Program for successful candidate recommendations.
  • Structured onboarding, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Modern office facilities and regular staff engagement initiatives, including team events, morning teas, and monthly BBQs.
  • The opportunity to join an industry-leading organisation focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled construction professional seeking to transition into a specialised technical role where their expertise will directly influence project quality, repair outcomes, and organisational success.
