Technical SEO Specialist

We are seeking a Technical SEO Specialist to join a growing U.S.-based residential and commercial solar energy company. You will own the technical health of the website so that its content and location pages can be crawled, indexed and ranked, and so the company shows up in both Google and AI-driven search results.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of SEO experience with a strong technical focus, including site audits, Core Web Vitals, indexing and structured data.

Responsibilities:

• Run regular technical SEO audits and own the fix list: crawlability, indexing, site architecture, redirects, canonicals, duplicate content and broken links.
• Improve site speed and Core Web Vitals, working with developers or directly in the CMS.
• Implement and maintain schema markup and structured data (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, Review and similar).
• Build and manage the technical framework for location-based pages so they scale cleanly across cities and regions.
• Manage XML sitemaps, robots.txt, Google Search Console and indexing issues.
• Set up and maintain tracking for rankings, traffic and conversions in GA4, Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager.
• Support local SEO, including Google Business Profile optimization and citation consistency.
• Optimize the site for AI-driven search (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity) through structure, entities and structured data.
• Work with the content team on internal linking, content hierarchy and on-page optimization.
• Report on technical health and SEO performance, and recommend next priorities.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of SEO experience, with hands-on technical SEO work (audits, indexing, site architecture, Core Web Vitals).
• Proven results growing organic traffic or leads for a business website.
• Strong experience with Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and how JavaScript affects rendering and indexing.
• Experience implementing schema markup and structured data.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms.

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience with solar, renewable energy, home services or other local, lead-generation businesses.
• Local SEO and multi-location site experience, including Google Business Profile.
• Familiarity with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AI search trends.
• Conversion rate optimization (CRO) experience.
• Experience with Webflow, Looker Studio dashboards or basic scripting.

• Available to work US Eastern Time business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM ET).
