Technical Service Engineer

Position Summary

The Technical Service Engineer provides technical support for Production Chemical Technologies activities across field operations, laboratory evaluations, tenders, customer projects, and product/application troubleshooting. The role supports the selection, qualification, optimization, and field application of production chemicals used in oil and gas operations, including water treatment, scale inhibition, corrosion control, H₂S management, emulsion treatment, bacteria control, flow assurance, and produced water management.

The position requires close collaboration with customers, field teams, laboratories, product line SMEs, sales/commercial teams, supply chain, and operations to deliver fit-for-purpose technical solutions and support safe, reliable, and cost-effective production chemical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel across MENA and Asia to provide onsite technical support for production chemistry applications, including chemical selection, product screening, and treatment optimization.
• Conduct onsite testing, such as demulsifier and water clarifier performance testing, to support product selection and field decision-making.
• Support field trials, including planning, execution, monitoring, and performance evaluation of production chemical programs.
• Support onsite troubleshooting and product optimization to resolve field performance issues and improve treatment reliability.
• Conduct total system analysis to assess chemical program performance across the full production system and identify optimization opportunities.
• Review customer operating conditions, fluid compositions, field constraints, and treatment objectives to recommend suitable chemical programs and testing strategies.
• Prepare, review, and issue technical reports, field test summaries, product recommendations, technical justifications, and customer-facing presentations.
• Support tender and commercial activities by preparing technical proposals, reviewing specifications, recommending suitable products, and contributing to cost, timeline, and testing scope development.
• Work with field and account teams to support chemical trials, field implementation, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of production chemical programs.
• Develop and maintain strong technical relationships with customer production chemistry, flow assurance, integrity, and operations teams.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers to understand challenges, clarify requirements, present recommendations, and address technical questions.
• Coordinate with internal and third-party laboratories as needed to define test scope, sample requirements, test methods, timelines, and deliverables.
• Support the implementation and evaluation of new technologies, new product introductions, and portfolio rationalization activities.
• Promote Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment standards in all field and site-related activities.
• Participate in pre-job, toolbox, and safety meetings when supporting field or site activities.
• Investigate technical problems, identify root causes, and develop practical recommendations to improve treatment performance and operational reliability.
