Technical Service Engineer - Weda Bay (Mandarin Speaker)

About the role

PT Fluida Teknologi Indonesia is seeking a Technical Service Engineer to join our field engineering team in Weda Bay, North Maluku. This is a full-time position responsible for providing technical support to our customers and operations in the region.

In this role, you will work closely with technical sales, other field engineers and the customer’s maintenance and operations teams. Provide strong technical support to customers on their site, to ensure smooth results-driven solutions. The position is primarily supporting native Mainland Chinese customers who communicate in Mandarin.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical equipment and systems
• Identify opportunities for improvement in equipment reliability through performance-based engineering and lubrication principles
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime
• Support customers through technical service, working closely with operations and maintenance teams
• Communicate directly with Mandarin-speaking clients, vendors, and technical teams
• Create Engineering Benefit Proposals and Engineering Benefit Reports that enhance the performance of the customer’s operation
• Identify opportunities for equipment optimisation and process improvements
• Train local operational staff on proper equipment operational and maintenance lubrication procedures
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements in all technical operations
• Support installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and equipment with best practice lubrication techniques and devices.
• Respond promptly to emergency technical issues and service calls

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, technical service, or field engineering roles

• Linguistic & Translation Mastery (Mandarin & English)

  • Certification Baseline: HSK 3.0 Advanced Tier (Level 7, 8, or 9) required for non-native speakers, or
  • Bilateral Technical Translation and Linguistic Fluidity: Demonstrated ability to read, write and accurately translate complex engineering documentation from Mandarin to English and English to Mandarin and the ability to seamlessly pivot between languages during live discussions with multi-national stakeholders.

• Strong knowledge of maintaining mechanical systems

• Demonstrated experience in preventive and corrective maintenance practices

• Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team

• Willingness to travel within the North Maluku region

• Strong communication skills and ability to document technical information clearly

• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and environmental compliance regulations
