What they need

About the opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an established importer and distributor of commercial laundry equipment, for a Technical Service Support person to join their Welshpool office team.

Supporting customers across Australia, our client is committed to making laundry hassle free through reliable equipment, practical solutions and dependable service.

From technical support to new machine sales and spare parts, their team takes pride in looking after customers—and having a good time while doing it.

This is where YOU come in.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical knowledge and a practical approach to problem-solving who enjoys helping others “get it done”.

If you have a background in commercial laundry, whitegoods or similar equipment and enjoy diagnosing faults and explaining solutions, this could be your next move into an office-based technical support role.

The role

Reporting to the Service Leader, you will provide technical advice and remote troubleshooting support to customers, technicians, contractors and internal teams across Australia.

You will help identify faults, guide people through practical next steps and refer issues requiring site attendance or further expertise to the appropriate Service Team.

This is an office-based role with no supervisory responsibilities or on-road technical support duties.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responding to technical enquiries by phone and email, providing clear and practical advice.
  • Troubleshooting equipment faults using product information, technical documentation and remote diagnostic systems.
  • Supporting technicians and contractors with technical guidance and escalating complex or urgent issues.
  • Maintaining accurate service records, troubleshooting guides and the technical knowledge library.
  • Keeping product and manufacturer information current and sharing relevant updates with the team.
  • Assisting with technical procedures, product documentation and quality control records.
  • Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers and the Spare Parts Manager on technical queries and product issues.
  • Identifying recurring faults and recommending improvements to technical resources and service processes.

About you

  • Practical Problem-Solver: You enjoy working through technical issues, asking the right questions and finding a clear way forward. You also know when to seek further advice.
  • Customer First Focus: You understand that equipment downtime affects a customer’s business. You take ownership of enquiries, follow through and keep people informed.
  • Excellent Communicator: You can explain technical information in plain English and guide someone through troubleshooting steps calmly and clearly.
  • Detail-Oriented: You keep accurate records and understand the value of current product information, clear instructions and complete documentation.
  • Organised and Efficient: You can manage several enquiries at once, recognise urgent issues and prioritise your work without losing track of the details.
  • Team Player: A small team supporting a big country. You share your knowledge, work well with others and help the team deliver dependable service.

Essential skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in technical support, service or repair within a commercial equipment environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial laundry, whitegoods or similar equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide clear technical guidance by phone and email.
  • Understanding of equipment installation and repair processes, manufacturer standards and safety requirements.
  • Experience maintaining technical documentation and service records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using CRM and service systems.
  • Current Police Clearance.

Experience providing remote technical support, maintaining troubleshooting resources or sharing product knowledge with others will be highly regarded.
