At ATCO, safety, reliability and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a Technical Services Engineer to join our Technical Services team and play a key role in ensuring the materials, equipment and technical standards used across our gas network remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

This is a hands-on technical role where you'll work closely with operational teams, manufacturers, suppliers and industry stakeholders to support network improvements, equipment testing, technical governance and change management activities.

The Opportunity

As a Technical Services Engineer, you'll be responsible for evaluating, testing and supporting the approval of materials, tooling and equipment used across the ATCO Gas network. You'll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support Management of Change activities and help ensure our technical standards, specifications and procedures remain current and effective.

You'll also provide technical guidance to field operations teams, helping drive safe and consistent application of network materials and equipment across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the safe and reliable operation of the gas network through the assessment, approval and continuous improvement of materials, equipment and technical standards.
  • Provide technical advice and support relating to materials, tooling, equipment and engineering standards.
  • Support Management of Change activities, including testing, technical assessments and documentation updates.
  • Partner with manufacturers, suppliers and industry stakeholders to ensure equipment quality, compliance and ongoing performance.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical specifications, standards, procedures and safety documentation.

About You

You're someone who enjoys solving technical problems, investigating opportunities for improvement and working collaboratively to achieve practical outcomes. You have strong attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to a variety of stakeholders.

You'll also bring:

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering and experience within utilities, gas, energy, manufacturing or a similar technical environment.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience assessing equipment, materials or operational risks.
  • Experience interpreting technical standards, specifications and supporting documentation.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and provide practical advice.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience managing multiple priorities; exposure to CAD, SolidWorks, MS Project or similar software will be highly regarded.

Why ATCO?

This is an opportunity to be part of a team responsible for maintaining the integrity, safety and performance of critical gas network infrastructure. You'll work alongside experienced technical professionals, contribute to meaningful improvement initiatives and help shape the future of our network.

At ATCO, we believe in creating an environment where people can learn, grow and make a genuine impact while supporting the communities we serve.
