Technical Solutions Engineer - Electrical | Perth, WA  

A well-established, 100% Australian-owned vehicle manufacturing business is looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer to join their Perth team. This is a customer-facing technical role sitting across Sales, Design & Engineering and Operations. You will be the technical link that makes sure customer requirements, particularly anything involving electrical systems and vehicle electrical architecture, are properly understood and turned into practical, accurate and commercially viable solutions. If you enjoy combining hands-on technical knowledge with problem-solving, customer engagement and commercial thinking, and you know your way around vehicle electrical systems, this one is worth a look.  

What you will be doing:

• Gathering, analysing and validating customer technical requirements before they progress to Engineering
• Using your own technical judgement to assess feasibility and resolve enquiries wherever you can, rather than passing them straight on
• Acting as the key technical link between customers, Sales and Engineering across the enquiry lifecycle
• Supporting Sales with technical input into proposals, tenders and quotes
• Owning the end pricing presented to customers, keeping it accurate, commercially sound and carrying appropriate margin
• Coordinating specialist Engineering involvement when it is needed, including scope, timelines and stakeholder communication
• Managing technical enquiries through the engineering pipeline and keeping the right priorities moving
• Building deep knowledge of the product range, with an emphasis on electrical systems, wiring configurations and vehicle electrical architecture
• Staying across relevant regulatory and compliance requirements, including ADR and OEM standards

What you will bring:

• A trade qualification or equivalent technical background (required)
• Demonstrated electrical knowledge, whether through formal qualifications, trade experience or hands-on work with vehicle electrical systems, wiring and 12V/24V architectures
• Experience in technical sales, applications engineering or another customer-facing technical role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with commercial awareness and a high level of attention to detail
• The confidence to own an enquiry end to end and be a reliable source of technical truth for customers

Experience within automotive, light commercial vehicles, light trucks or manufacturing will be highly regarded, particularly where it involved vehicle electrical systems, wiring harness design, electrical integration or aftermarket electrical installations.
