Technical Sourcing Engineer / Senior Engineer

About the role

We are hiring for Technical Sourcing Engineer and Technical Sourcing Senior Engineer positions based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. The role involves sourcing fabrication parts, standard components, modules and indirect materials, identifying and evaluating suppliers, and managing supplier relationships to drive cost reduction and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Source fabrication parts, standard components, modules and indirect materials
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on capability, quality, cost and delivery
• Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and quality
• Manage supplier relationships and improvement projects
• Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor supplier lead time and material availability
• Maintain supplier and purchasing records
• Work closely with Purchasing, Quality and other departments
• Support supplier reviews and the Zero Defect Program
• Handle other ad hoc assignments when required

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement or Engineering
• Experience in capital equipment procurement is preferred
• Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation and analytical skills
• Good knowledge of supplier management and cost reduction
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Machining process knowledge and ability to read technical drawings will be an added advantage
• Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Senior candidates should have experience in leading projects
