Technical Specialist

1. Job Objective

To develop and program knitting patterns for Whole Garment knitting machines, ensuring that products meet the required design, technical specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Receive technical requirements, product designs, and specifications to develop Whole Garment knitting programs.
• Create, modify, and optimize knitting programs using appropriate programming systems/software.
• Convert product designs into machine programs, ensuring proper specifications for style, dimensions, knitting structures, stitch types, and fabric density.
• Conduct sample trials, monitor the knitting process, and adjust programs when defects or technical issues occur.
• Analyze and resolve programming-related issues, including stitch defects, dimensional deviations, shape, knitting structure, and machine productivity.
• Coordinate with Design, Technical, Production, and Quality Control teams to develop and finalize samples and transfer products into mass production.
• Review, evaluate, and continuously improve programs to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize machine efficiency.
• Maintain, organize, and update program files and technical parameters for each product/style.
• Provide technical support during production and assist in troubleshooting programming-related issues when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.

3. Job Requirements

• College/University degree or equivalent qualification in Textile & Garment Technology, Knitting Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in Whole Garment machine programming is an advantage.
• Candidates with experience using Whole Garment knitting machine programming software/systems are preferred.
• Good knowledge of knitted fabric structures, knitting stitches, and the operating principles of knitting machines.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, documents, and product specifications.
• Strong technical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented, careful, responsible, and able to work under production deadlines.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical English documents is an advantage.
