Technical Superintendent

As a Technical Superintendent at BMS Offshore, you are responsible for the technical readiness and reliability of our offshore fleet.

You ensure that vessels and mission equipment are maintained, certified, and performing to the highest standards, in close alignment with operational planning and project needs. From troubleshooting and maintenance coordination to dry-dock preparation and supplier management, you take ownership of the full technical lifecycle.

You work closely with vessel crew, project teams and external service providers to plan and execute maintenance and repair activities, often under tight schedules and in dynamic environments. The role requires a deep understanding of marine systems and equipment, combined with strong organizational skills and a hands-on, solution-driven mindset.

While the role involves moderate administrative tasks (such as budgeting, reporting and documentation), the focus lies on technical oversight and operational continuity. You are part of a close-knit team where your expertise directly impacts safe and efficient offshore execution.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the maintenance and repair plans;
• Supervise dry dockings and major repairs/modifications;
• Coordinate inspections, certifications and class compliance;
• Provide technical support to vessels and troubleshoot issues;
• Manage spare parts, inventories and budget tracking;
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Must Have

• Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent technical discipline;
• At least 3+ years of experience in a similar role in offshore industry;
• Strong knowledge of vessel systems, regulations and class rules;
• Excellent problem-solving and planning skills;
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with planned maintenance systems;
• Background in QHSE and asset integrity programs.
