We are looking for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Supervisor for Perth Airport's operations.
Reporting directly to the Port Manager, you will step into a well-established, high-performing operation supported by an experienced and capable team. This is not a role where you will be starting from scratch. Instead, you will build on already established strong foundations, lead a skilled maintenance team, and drive operational excellence across Perth Airport's baggage handling systems.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys working with people and solving technical problems.
Why This Role
- Monday to Friday, 40-hour week
- Lead a well-run operation with a strong team culture
- Play a key role at one of Australia's busiest airports
- Work with advanced automated and baggage handling systems
- Genuine leadership opportunity with autonomy and influence
- Join a global leader in airport and industrial automation
As Technical Supervisor, you will lead the safe and reliable operation of Perth Airport's baggage handling systems while ensuring outstanding maintenance performance, safety outcomes, and customer service.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a team of technicians, apprentices, and trade assistants
- Driving preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Supporting fault finding, diagnostics, and operational recovery when required
- Building strong relationships with airport stakeholders and contractors
- Maintaining high safety and compliance standards
- Identifying opportunities to enhance system performance and reliability
- Creating a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification (A Grade)
- Previous supervisory experience or second in charge
- Experience within airports, automation, materials handling, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or other critical infrastructure environments
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Exposure to PLCs, SCADA, automation, or control systems
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
Bonus If You Have
- Experience with baggage handling or automated conveyor systems
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Strong leadership and coaching capability
- The ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- A passion for safety, continuous improvement, and team development
- Experience working in KPI-driven service environments
Join a Team That is Already Performing
This is an opportunity to inherit a capable and respected team that takes pride in delivering outstanding results. Reporting to a supportive Port Manager, you will have the platform, resources, and autonomy to make a genuine impact while continuing to develop a strong team and operation.
