We're looking for a technically minded, customer-focused individual to join an established access automation business, supporting products used across residential, commercial and industrial markets.

In this office-based role, you'll use your practical knowledge to help installers diagnose faults, resolve technical challenges and get products working as they should. You'll provide support primarily by telephone and email, combining technical troubleshooting with customer interaction and practical problem-solving.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide technical support to installers by telephone and email, helping with technical queries, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis (handling approximately 25 calls per day).
• Investigate technical problems methodically , using structured questioning to distinguish between product faults, installation issues, incorrect settings and mechanical or electrical causes.
• Interpret technical information , including wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and product manuals, and explain solutions clearly to installers with different levels of experience.
• Build your product knowledge , developing an understanding of hydraulic and electromechanical motors, control panels, transmitters and safety accessories.
• Manage enquiries from start to finish , maintaining accurate CRM records, documenting findings and agreed actions, following up unresolved issues and escalating complex cases.
• Assist with component testing and repairs when required , helping investigate faults with returned products.

What We're Looking For

You'll enjoy helping people, asking the right questions and approaching technical problems methodically.

You’ll bring:

• A customer-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
• Practical knowledge of basic electrics and electronics, including mains and low-voltage systems.
• The ability to interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience in fault-finding, testing, maintenance or repairs, either remotely or hands-on.
• Strong analytical skills and a logical approach to problem-solving.
• A calm, patient and professional telephone manner.
• Confidence using IT systems and CRM software (Salesforce used, training provided).

Technical / Customer Support experience in access automation, automatic doors and gates, electrical installation or maintenance would be advantageous. Knowledge of mechanical systems would also be beneficial.
