TECHNICAL SUPPORT

About the role

We are seeking a practical Technical Support team member to install, service and troubleshoot IoT devices, meters and related equipment at customer sites. The role is mainly hands on and involves mechanical assembly, basic piping work, electrical installation support and field testing. The successful candidate can read drawings, use tools safely and solve site problems with the technical team.

Key responsibilities

• Install, mount, assemble and replace meters, sensors, gateways, enclosures and associated equipment at site.
• Carry out hands-on mechanical work such as drilling, fixing brackets, fitting supports and routing cables or conduits.
• Support piping installation and modification, including fittings, valves and meter connections; check alignment and leaks after installation.
• Use hand tools and test equipment properly and keep the work area tidy and safe.
• Understand three-phase power wiring, electrical drawings, distribution boards, breakers, CTs and meter connections relevant to the installation.
• Assist with cable laying, termination, labelling, continuity checks and testing of electrical and control connections.
• Identify installation faults, loose connections, damaged components and other on-site problems; escalate complex faults promptly.
• Perform electrical tasks only within the person's training and authorisation, following site procedures and the direction of the responsible qualified personnel.
• Test installed equipment, verify readings and basic device operation, and assist with commissioning and handover.
• Attend service calls, inspect failed equipment and carry out repairs or replacement as directed.

About you

• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Building Services or a related field; relevant practical experience will also be considered.
• Hands-on experience in electrical installation, mechanical fitting, piping, maintenance or field service.
• Working understanding of three-phase wiring and electrical safety; able to read basic wiring diagrams and installation drawings.
• Able to use common hand tools, electrical test instruments and basic measuring equipment.
• Comfortable working at customer sites, including physically demanding installation work and travel between sites in Singapore.
• Able to communicate clearly with the supervisor and customer, and complete short, accurate service records.
• Experience installing or servicing water meters, energy meters, CT meters, sensors or IoT gateways (preferred).
• Experience in piping connections, leak checks, cable routing and panel installation (preferred).
• Relevant worksite safety training and a valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence are advantages.
