About Globaltrack

‍

Globaltrack develops connected vehicle, fleet-management, tracking and IoT solutions that combine our own electronic devices, mobile connectivity and software platforms. Our support team helps clients and internal teams keep these products and their day-to-day technology working reliably.

‍

Internship Overview

We are looking for a practical, service-minded and technically curious Technical Support Intern to join our support team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with a diploma-level IT background and some real exposure to computers, troubleshooting or technical support.

‍

You will assist with technical requests involving Globaltrack software, GPS/IoT tracking devices, laptops and workplace IT. You will also support simple automations and responsible AI use that improve the team's response time and efficiency. With guidance, you will investigate issues, verify fixes, communicate progress and escalate cases requiring specialist attention.

‍

Key Responsibilities Globaltrack Products & Software

  • Provide first-line assistance for technical issues affecting Globaltrack applications, user accounts, dashboards, reports and product functionality.

  • Investigate tracking-data delays, device connectivity, GPS and configuration issues; gather evidence, reproduce problems and identify when to escalate.

  • Assist with testing fixes, checking expected results and confirming with the team or client that the reported issue has been resolved.

‍

Computers, Laptops & Internal IT

  • Assist colleagues with Windows laptops/desktops, Microsoft Office applications, email, printers, peripherals and everyday software issues.

  • Help prepare laptops, install software, manage authorised access and updates, and track IT equipment, repairs and replacements.

  • Troubleshoot common Wi-Fi, LAN, internet and connectivity problems; record actions taken and escalate network or security issues appropriately.

‍

Tracking Devices, Electronics & IoT

  • Assist with basic inspection, configuration and functional checks of Globaltrack tracking units and supported accessories.

  • With guidance, check device power, SIM/mobile-network status, GPS and reporting behaviour, and collect logs or test results.

  • Coordinate with Embedded, Software, Installation, Manufacturing and QA teams when an issue requires deeper investigation or a device replacement.

‍

Client Requests, Tickets & Team Support

  • Log, categorise, update and follow up support tickets with accurate notes, evidence, actions, ownership and next steps.

  • Respond professionally to internal users and client requests, explain basic checks clearly and provide timely progress updates.

  • Follow approved support, security and escalation procedures, document recurring issues and help improve FAQs or troubleshooting guides.

‍

Automation, AI & Support Enablement

  • Spot repetitive support tasks that could be automated, such as ticket updates, reports, routine checks and record keeping.

  • Assist with building, testing and documenting simple automations using approved spreadsheet, no-code/low-code or basic scripting tools under supervision.

  • Use approved AI tools to assist with troubleshooting, ticket summaries, draft client replies and support guides; verify outputs before relying on or sharing them.

  • Help colleagues adopt AI safely through useful examples, reusable prompts and basic guidance; protect company/client information and obtain approvals for changes.

‍

‍

Minimum Requirements Education & Practical Exposure

  • A completed Diploma (or higher qualification) in Information Technology, Computer Systems, IT Support, Networking, Information Systems, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related technical field. Final-year students with suitable availability may be considered.

  • Some practical IT exposure through work-integrated learning, a helpdesk, part-time work, an internship, volunteering or hands-on technical projects; extensive formal employment experience is not required.

‍

Technical Foundation

  • Comfortable using, configuring and troubleshooting Windows computers, laptops and standard Microsoft Office tools (such as Outlook, Word and Excel).

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, software installation, user accounts and common peripherals.

  • Basic knowledge of networks and connectivity, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, IP addresses and internet troubleshooting.

  • Ability to investigate a problem logically, follow a checklist, document findings and explain what was tried.

  • Interest in electronics, connected devices and learning how GPS, mobile networks and IoT tracking products work.

  • Clear written and verbal communication in English and a professional approach to supporting users and clients.

  • Awareness of good security and privacy practices, including safe handling of credentials and customer information.

  • Interest in using AI tools and automation to improve everyday support work; willingness to learn and critically check AI-generated results.

‍

Preferred / Advantageous Experience

  • Previous service desk, desktop support, customer technical support or device troubleshooting exposure.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, ticketing systems, AI assistants or simple automation tools (advantageous, not required).

  • Exposure to IoT devices, vehicle telematics or basic electronics.

  • Practical use of a multimeter, basic wiring or electronics projects such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi.

‍

What We Look For

  • Problem-solving mindset: you investigate the cause rather than guess or repeatedly retry the same action.

  • Service orientation: you are patient, respectful and responsive when helping colleagues and clients.

  • Ownership: you follow assigned tasks through, give updates and escalate blockers early.

  • Curiosity and adaptability: you want to learn new devices, applications, automation tools and responsible AI workflows.

‍

What You Will Learn

  • How commercial fleet tracking and IoT products work across devices, connectivity and software.

  • Structured troubleshooting, incident triage, client communication and responsible AI-assisted support.

  • IT support workflows, and how to identify and test small automations that reduce repetitive work.

  • How field installation, engineering, QA and software teams cooperate to resolve product issues.
