About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Support Officer to join our Asset Planning team and provide technical support across the City’s Buildings, Transport, Drainage, Parks and Natural Area assets.

In this role, you will apply your technical and engineering skills to support our asset planners and contribute to a range of asset planning activities. Your responsibilities will include preparing and managing consultancy briefs, undertaking site inspections and investigations, collecting and maintaining asset data, and maintaining relevant registers, databases and systems.

You will enjoy a varied role that combines practical site-based work with technical and administrative tasks. A key focus will be maintaining a consistent and methodical approach to data collection, ensuring a high level of accuracy in data entry, and assisting with the procurement and management of consultancy services.

About You
You are adaptable, organised and enjoy applying your technical skills to practical challenges. This role would suit someone with a tertiary qualification or relevant experience in an engineering or construction-related discipline who is looking to develop their skills and contribute to effective asset planning.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Civil Engineering, is desirable, or be currently undertaking one.
• Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Experience managing asset data using dedicated software or similar GIS applications is desirable.
• Intermediate skills in the efficient use of information systems and technology.
• A ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence.
• Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
• Intermediate keyboard and data entry skills.
• Intermediate organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
• Intermediate communication and problem-solving skills.
• Foundational customer service, research and analysis skills.
• Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace, including hazard identification when undertaking site visits.
